Magical Realism

Some images cannot be named---but others almost magically insist on form...concept...or a spiritual experience wanting to be told. I call them magical realism for that reason---they have transitioned from the invisible and unspoken world to the world of form. Yet they continue to speak from that hidden world.

Is this world inside the artist? If I could put on magic glasses, perhaps I could tell you just where these come from. But I don't necessarily know. They seem to emerge out of the paint itself...a space on the canvas...the materials. There must be some kind of unseen and mysterious collaboration "between the worlds" that the artist sometimes taps into.
